چکیده

This work is motivated by an experiment of microbubble transport in a polymer microfluidic gas generation device where coalescence-induced detachment exhibits. We numerically study three-dimensional coalescence using the graphics processing unit accelerating free energy lattice Boltzmann method with cubic polynomial boundary conditions. The focus on (CIMD) microfluidics. From experimental observation, we identified that size inequality between two-parent bubbles and father (large) bubble are key factors to determine if CIMD will occur. First, analytical relationship equilibrium contact angle dimensionless wetting potential results without employed for verification validation, respectively. eighteen computational cases, derive new criterion CIMD: occurs when (nearly) equal relatively large radius. underlying mechanism behind this explored time evolution velocity vector field, vorticity kinetic entire coalescence. It found symmetric capillary force drives formation vertical flow stream horizontal alignment parent blockage downward due solid interface promotes intensity upward stream. Meanwhile, large-sized transfer amount from initial surface energy, which essential lead post-coalescence stage. Such expected impact design optimization microfluidics various applications.

Three-Dimensional Simulation of Qeshm Channel Currents

Qeshm Channel is a shallow and narrow waterway located between Qeshm Island and the mainland in the vicinity of Hormuzgan Province, Islamic Republic of Iran. This channel is important because of its economic, industrial, fisheries and navigation role it plays as well as environmental issues it presents in the region. A prognostic study was performed to simulate currents in this channel, using C...

Three-dimensional deconvolution microfluidic microscopy using a tilted channel.

We have developed a microfluidic device that enables the computation of three-dimensional (3-D) images of flowing samples. Using a microfluidic channel that is tilted along the optical axis, we record several progressively defocused images of the flowing sample as it passes across the focal plane. The resulting focal stack is then deconvolved to generate 3-D images. Experimental results on flow...

Three-Dimensional Holographic Refractive-Index Measurement of Continuously Flowing Cells in a Microfluidic Channel.

Refractive index of biological specimens is a source of intrinsic contrast that can be explored without any concerns of photobleaching or harmful effects caused by extra contrast agents. In addition, RI contains rich information related to the metabolism of cells at the cellular and subcellular levels. Here, we report a no-moving parts approach that provides three-dimensional refractive index m...

A General New Algorithm for Regulaization of Singular Integrals in Three-Dimensional Boundary Elemnts

In this paper an algorithm is presented for the regularization of singular integrals with any degrees of singularity, which may be employed in all three-dimensional problems analyzed by Boundary Elements. The integrals in Boundary Integrals Equations are inherently singular. For example, one can mention the integrals confronted in potential problems to evaluate the flow or the gradient of the f...
